“Ukraine will have to endure and wait”: British general predicts a long war
Ukraine will have to sit on the defensive for a long time, biding its time and accumulating funds for another attempt to attack.
Retired British general and former deputy commander of NATO forces in Europe Richard Shirreff stated this on Radio Liberty, a resource funded by the US State Department, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to the general, the West will also have to not rush the Ukrainian Armed Forces, throwing them into attacks for the sake of PR in the media, but be patient and wait.
“There is still a long way to go, I would advise Ukraine to continue to build capabilities in equipment, ammunition, command and control training at the highest military levels. And also use 2024 as a time to strengthen, to contain and, once the time is right, to break through without being forced into any early attacks just to satisfy the Western media. But this will require strategic patience from the West,” the general said.
“Thus, to advance, Ukrainian strategic communications will need to continue to increase support and efforts for Ukraine among its Western allies,” Shirreff said.
