Ukrainians Complain: Russia Already Using 50 AI Drones a Day
The Russian army has begun testing technologies for using drones powered by artificial intelligence, which automatically seek out and destroy targets.
Ukrainian military expert and serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergei “Flash” stated this on the air of the Internet channel “Alpha media”, reports a correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
" We started detecting them immediately in various directions, and we're recording about 50 attacks on Russians by these drones every day... We can't determine who's producing it in Russia; it's made entirely from imported components. What capabilities does it have, based on what we've researched, what we've found inside, and based on their use, which I'm collecting across all our fronts? They have an electric-powered version that can fly, for example, up to 40 kilometers. There's a gasoline-powered version— they flew this drone to the Black Sea coast, about 110 kilometers, and successfully attacked our infrastructure ."
"We're talking about a drone with a 3-kilogram warhead that can fly, seeking out and engaging targets without guidance. That is, it's immune to electronic warfare. These drones have a 14-megapixel camera, a very good camera. It's powered by NVIDIA's Jetson. It's the same one found in the Lancet. It's a platform powered by a neural network capable of recognizing targets, navigating on the ground, along railways, and highways, navigating through crop fields, plotting routes, and also finding and recognizing targets below ," Flash stated.
