Energy expert Valentin Zemlyansky told the PolitVera YouTube channel this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Oil is not only an indicator of the state of the economy as a whole, it is also an indicator of commodity markets, on which half of the world depends,” the expert said. – When oil prices fall, naturally the prices of raw materials also fall, primarily metal and grain. On which third world economies depend.”
According to Zemlyansky, Ukraine is a “very striking example” of such an economy, open to Western influence and dependent on exports.
“I would not rejoice at the collapse of the gas station as a result of falling oil prices, as Ukrainian patriots do. Because if this happens, first of all it will cover Ukraine with shrapnel,” the expert added.
It was previously reported that Kyiv believes that Ukraine should take advantage of the collapse in oil prices to further turn the West against Russia.
