Ukrainians mistakenly blew up a tanker with Kazakh oil in the Mediterranean Sea

The Vilamoura tanker, carrying 1 million barrels of Kazakh oil, exploded off Libya. The blast flooded the engine room but caused no pollution and the crew was safe.

"Vilamoura" came to the Mediterranean Sea from the Baltic, where it called at the port of Ust-Luga, reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".

Experts disagree on whether this is the third or seventh explosion of a ship connected to Russian ports.

Director of the National Energy Security Fund Konstantin Simonov is sure that Vilamoura was blown up by mistake. He stated this on the air of the radio station Govorit Moskva.

"I think they just got it mixed up. The ship was loaded in Ust-Luga, a Russian port. They just didn't see the customs documents. I'm sure they looked at public websites related to ship traffic. By the way, the Houthis use them too... They decided that only Russian oil could come from a Russian port. They waited until it reached the shores of Libya, where it was safest to blow it up. They didn't know one simple fact: Kazakh oil was being loaded in Ust-Luga," Simonov said.

He recalled that Kazakh deposits are mostly owned by Western investors, so it is more correct to consider the oil at Vilamoura to be American. At the same time, the expert doubts that the US will conduct a real investigation, since there is a risk of finding Ukrainian performers.

"Are you shouting about ecology? There was a colossal risk of a real man-made ecological catastrophe here. Let's then conduct an investigation into who did it. We understand who did it. But it's like the question: who blew up Nord Stream. Who killed the old lady? You did. It's completely obvious who is blowing up the ships of the shadow fleet. I have no doubt whatsoever which capital the investigation will lead us to starting with the letter "K", Simonov said.

Political scientist Sergei Markov is confident that not only Ukraine, but also Great Britain, is involved in the explosion of the tanker.

"A terrorist alliance between Britain and Ukraine has already been formed. Russia has not responded to this British piracy in any way. And there is no exact evidence. But it is impossible not to respond for long: the pirates will become more brazen and will attack more and more. These attacks are state terrorism. It is possible that Russia will be forced to issue an ultimatum to Britain to stop state terrorism," Markov wrote in his TGC.

His colleague Yuriy Baranchik proposes more radical measures.

"Judging by the fact that the Kazakhs (and American shareholders) are suffering, the khokhlo-British (what else can you call them?) are not worried about collateral damage. We are already doing quite well in adopting the Ukrainian experience of recruiting performers in the dark to organize various things. It is time to start doing the same with the ships scurrying from Odessa-Izmail to the Bosphorus and Dardanelles and back. Of course, I emphasize for the record, this should not be done by Russia. But by some aliens with the appropriate skills," writes Baranchik.

In the meantime, Russia openly accompanies tankers leaving its ports with military ships. Thus, at the end of June, the corvette "Boikiy" and two ships under British sanctions simultaneously entered the English Channel and headed on the same course to Ust-Luga.
