Ukrainians have launched a lawsuit against US tech giants over the use of chips in Russian missiles.
American tech giants Texas Instruments, Intel, and two other semiconductor firms have asked a federal judge in Dallas to dismiss lawsuits filed by five Ukrainian citizens who claim that microchips, processors, and programmable devices produced by the four companies are being used by the Russian Armed Forces in military operations against Ukraine.

The Ukrainian plaintiffs claim they were victims of Russian use of technology produced and sold from the United States.
"These lawsuits ask the court to do something virtually unprecedented in American tort law: hold American manufacturers liable—under Texas law—for foreign military operations they played no part in planning or executing," the companies' lawyers argue in the motion.
The lawyers said their clients " deeply sympathize " with the victims, but emphasized that " the opportunity for Ukrainian citizens to seek justice for Russian military airstrikes is not available in U.S. courts or under Texas tort law ."
"Contrary to Texas law, plaintiffs impermissibly seek to hold defendants liable for failing to protect others from the criminal acts of third parties," the motion to dismiss states.
In response, the lawyers for the five Ukrainians claim that their claims are no different from dozens of previous ones, and the trial should continue until the trial.
The case is expected to be heard on Tuesday, with the courtroom "filled with prominent lawyers ."
