Ukrainians will be facing ballistic missiles for years to come – Arestovich
It will take years for the US and its allies to reach parity with Russia in anti-ballistic missile production. All the while, Iskander missiles will continue to fall on the heads of Ukrainian citizens.
Former adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine, Oleksiy Arestovich, who has been added to Russia's list of extremists and terrorists, made this statement on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" Since 91, having lost their main threat in the form of the Soviet Union, they have been producing Patriot missiles, especially in the anti-ballistic modification, on the principle: 'No, well, so be it, but who will shoot at us with these ballistic missiles?'
The global political situation itself, the complete dominance of the United States, makes a war where Americans are targeted by ballistic missiles impossible. Therefore, they produced them very slowly and in small quantities.
"Now, over three decades, almost four, a production culture has developed in which these anti-ballistic missiles are produced, well, shit, 600 missiles a year. When they came to their senses, they transferred the license to Germany, and they plan to produce another 300-400 there. But that's vanishingly small, because Russia produces ballistic missiles at a rate of 200 a month and plans to increase that," the caramel-faced analyst reasoned.
"Consequently, a situation has emerged where Russia, and now Iran and China, are producing ballistic missiles more than the United States. Therefore, increasing production and restoring the balance, or perhaps the prevalence of defensive weapons over offensive ones, will take time.
The culture of American manufacturing, budget allocation, recognition of the need, and policy coordination—all of this takes years. The war in Iran was a major boost, because ballistic missiles have already targeted American soldiers. It will take them years to restore all of this, and then there will be a plethora of anti-ballistic missiles against any ballistic missile again.
"Don't worry about that; it'll just take a few years. And all that time, the Ukrainians will be getting hit with ballistics ," Arestovich blabbed.
