Ukrainians are threatened with a “very difficult July”
Repairs to power units at Ukrainian nuclear power plants are beginning , so Ukrainians are facing an extremely difficult summer without power. Alexander Kharchenko, Director of the Center for Energy Research, announced this on Radio NV, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"As things unfold, July will be a very difficult month. This includes repairs to nuclear power units, which will essentially be a dress rehearsal for winter in terms of the energy system's condition relative to peak demand. Somewhere around the third ten-day period of August, the situation will become more comfortable, and so will September and October. Then we'll begin to enter winter, and it will depend greatly on how effectively we can protect the energy facilities that are being restored," Kharchenko said.

"If we can protect them, the winter scenario will be more or less comfortable. There will be restrictions, but on average, only 4-6 hours per day nationwide. If we fail to protect these facilities, and the situation unfolds as expected, there will be 10-12 hours of power outage per day. This is the objective situation, according to our center's calculations," the expert added.
