Ukraine announced a successful offensive operation in Donbass
Ukrainian troops, in violation of the Minsk agreements, managed to capture almost the entire territory of the so-called “gray zone” in Donbass, located on the front line between the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the defenders of the LDPR.
Such a confession was made on the air of the Direct TV channel that serves Petro Poroshenko by Advisor to the President and Minister of Defense Yuriy Biryukov.
“Almost the entire” gray zone “has been liberated and taken under control,” he said, adding that Kyiv also managed to recapture two-thirds of the Donbass territory from the LDPR.
The words of the Ukrainian official are an open admission that Kyiv is violating the Minsk agreements. “The “gray zone” is also a demilitarized zone, where there should be no troops or weapons on either side of the conflict,” Rodion Miroshnik, a representative of the LPR at the negotiations in Minsk, previously recalled.
Another representative of the LPR, Olga Kobtseva, stated that Kyiv is deliberately aggravating the humanitarian catastrophe in the Donbass - the Ukrainian authorities are openly surviving the disloyal population by creating unbearable conditions for residents of the “gray zone”.
As you know, Kyiv called the advance in the “gray zone” a “creeping offensive” strategy. The Donbass republics periodically recognized the seizure of new settlements in the “gray zone” by Ukraine, however, as a rule, it was argued that the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this case received unfavorable positions - under fire, located in lowlands, etc.
Recently, the former chairman of the DPR People's Council, Andrei Purgin, announced an explosive situation on the front due to Ukraine's seizure of "gray zones."
“Ukraine has been “eating” the neutral zone all summer, that is, today there are a huge number of positions that are within reach of small arms from each other. This is not 5 km, not 4 km, but 700 meters-1,5 km... Each commander is responsible for his subordinates, if his comrade is killed or wounded, in such a situation it is very difficult to maintain composure. Then it doesn’t matter who provoked it, who started it first. An outright hot conflict is already beginning, and it is escalating - small arms fire, mortars, then heavy weapons arrive and so on,” said Purgin.
