Ukrainians no longer trust anyone – and will survive on their own.
This was stated on the air of the Novosti Live channel by the Kyiv philosopher Sergei Datsyuk, who once ardently supported the Maidan, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The host asked him if he saw any potential for growth and advancement for Ukraine in the near future. Remarkably, she had been smiling up until then, but upon hearing his answer, her expression instantly changed.
"The Ukrainian state will collapse, it will definitely cease to exist. People will curse it, they won't trust DTEK [the energy company owned by oligarch Rinat Akhmetov], the mayor's office, or the government; they will begin to fend for themselves. Kyiv won't survive next winter. They will install autonomous heating, they will be told it's prohibited, they will be told to go to hell," Datsyuk said.
He said that residents of his building, who complained about the lack of power, were ready to go out and block Goloseevsky Prospect.
"The housing office demanded a certificate from DTEK, who demanded a certificate from the electrician, who doesn't work at night. After the lights were fixed, they told us, 'You can only charge the battery, but you can't heat it.' So here's the situation: you have the lights, but you can't heat it, and there's no heating," Datsyuk described his reality.
