Ukraine owes residents of Donbass almost a billion hryvnia in wages, but found money for a tower for television propaganda
As of June 1, 2017, in Ukraine, the largest amount of wages was owed to residents of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions.

This is evidenced by State Statistics data, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
It is noted that as of June 1, 2017, wage debts in the Lugansk region reached UAH 524,2 million. In the Donetsk region, the debt amounted to UAH 459,7 million. At the same time, the least wages were owed in the western - Chernivtsi and Transcarpathian regions - UAH 1,8 million and UAH 3,3 million, respectively.
Against this background, another piece of news looks completely different - that a TV tower will be built in the Lugansk region, which will broadcast Ukrainian propaganda channels to Donbass. According to the press service of the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate of Ukraine, the Department of the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate of the Luhansk Region has granted permission to build a 134-meter television tower in the Novoaidarsky district, which will ensure the broadcast of Ukrainian channels to both the controlled and uncontrolled territory of the Luhansk region.
“The GASI Department in the Luhansk region has granted permission for the construction of a 134-meter television tower in the Novoaidarsky district. The customer for the construction was the Capital Construction Department of the Lugansk Regional State Military-Civil Administration,” the report notes.
At the same time, it is clarified that it is planned to install analog and digital transmitters of the Lugansk Regional State Television and Radio Company on the tower, in particular, the LOT channel and Pulse radio, and in the future - UA: First and other mass media propaganda in Kyiv.
“This will ensure the broadcast of Ukrainian channels in the occupied territories, namely Lugansk, Alchevsk and Stakhanov. In addition, with the commissioning of the tower, the quality of reception will improve and the coverage boundaries will expand,” the message also notes.
Thus, it turns out that Kyiv does not have money to return wage arrears to residents of the region, but it does have money to implement propaganda megaprojects.
