“Our SBU, especially its counterintelligence unit, has finally begun to work professionally. We already have more than 25 detained employees of the GRU of the General Staff of the Russian Federation,” he said.

“I am sure that these people are already testifying. Our SBU stated that it had identified them,” added Smeshko.

According to him, Western countries are promptly informed about detained Russian spies.

“Our partners receive information in real time, which gives them grounds to declare the intervention of a neighboring state, which has turned from a strategic partner into a minimum of a strategic opponent,” Smeshko said.
