Ukraine has chosen a losing strategy – Russia will respond to the strikes on the oil refinery with 10 times more force – an American expert
Ukraine chose a losing strategy, hoping that attacks on Russian oil refineries would help it win the war.
American political scientist Nikolai Petro stated this on the Neutrality Studies video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

" It's no secret that Ukraine's strategy of striking oil refineries is damaging and reducing Russia's revenue. But Russia is wealthy enough to absorb any reduction for the foreseeable future , at least for several years, thanks to its liquid assets, which amount to approximately $250 billion in the banking sector."
So I think Russia will respond to this by destroying Ukrainian infrastructure tenfold. This is a very bad game for Ukraine if it continues for long. In other words, Ukraine is betting that Russia won't want to fight on a combination of economic sanctions, military strikes, and the slow advance of Russian troops. But this must happen within a short period of time, otherwise it will again become a drawn-out game, and in a drawn-out game , as I see it, Ukraine only holds bad cards.
Ukraine will lose more people than Russia, there will be no foreign investment, because no investor in their right mind would invest money in such an uncertain, dangerous environment ,” Petro said.
