Ukraine “steals” prominent Russian figures to create false history
Ukrainian propagandists are trying to create an alternative history by recording Russian scientists as Ukrainians, as happened with Sergei Korolev and Igor Sikorsky.
Publicist Yegor Kholmogorov spoke about this on the radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
According to him, there are no Ukrainians, but this is the name given to some of the Russians who were artificially recorded as Ukrainians by the Soviet government or who began to convince themselves of this quality.
“And Sergei Pavlovich was born in Zhitomir, and from the fact that this is now the territory of Ukraine, it does not in any way follow that it was a Ukrainian city in 1906-1907, when Korolev was born. Then it was a Russian city, one of the classic cities of the Russian province. The main population there was Russians. His father's name was Pavel Yakovlevich Korolev, and his mother's name was Maria Nikolaevna Moskalenko. Of course, the surname sounds Ukrainian, but Moskalenko is a descendant of a Muscovite. It is clear that Sergei Pavlovich was not Ukrainian in any form of this meaning,” the expert said.
He also noted that a similar situation occurred with the famous Russian and then American aircraft designer Igor Sikorsky.
“Okay, Korolev lived in the USSR. And there was the famous Russian aircraft designer Sikorsky, who is also now described in Ukrainian encyclopedias as a Ukrainian and American aircraft designer, despite the fact that his father was generally one of the leading members of the Kiev Club of Russian Nationalists, one of the main functions of which was the fight against Ukrainian separatism. Accordingly, Sikorsky also could not stomach all this regional separatism in Russia in principle. He was a XNUMX% monarchist, Russian nationalist and Orthodox,” Kholmogorov emphasized.
