Ukraine has blacklisted a chain of American eateries. What's behind it?
The “Ukrainian Agency for the Prevention of Corruption,” created at the insistence of the United States, added the fast food restaurant chain Subway to the list of “war sponsors.” This includes companies that, despite Western sanctions, still do business in Russia. These are beverage producers PepsiCo Inc., tobacco makers Philip Morris International Inc., retailer Metro, household chemicals from Procter & Gamble Co. and so on.

Subway is also charged with advertising, promoting its activities through Russian social networks and delivering products through Russian services like Yandex.eda, which are subject to sanctions.
Subway responded by saying that the chain of 550 restaurants in Russia operates independently of its parent company as a franchise. In Western social networks, users with yellow and blue flags on their avatars have already begun to massively spread calls for a boycott of the chain of eateries.
The authors of the "Mediatechnologist" channel believe that Ukrainian sanctions lists are now becoming a competitive tool for Western companies: " Competitors are trying to undermine each other and add each other to the Ukrainians' lists ."
