Voice of America reports this.
On Friday, 612 congressmen, mostly Republicans, voted for the Pentagon's main financial document worth $269 billion, while 151 legislators, mostly Democrats, opposed the budget.
“Lawmakers are providing $38 billion more for the so-called war fund than the White House is proposing. The document also talks about the continued operation of the Guantanamo Bay prison, which the Obama administration opposes. In addition, $200 million is expected to help Ukraine, including in the form of lethal weapons. Barack Obama opposes this,” says the Voice of America report.
It is noted that the US presidential administration has already announced its intention to veto this bill when it is signed by the head of state.
