Ukraine decided to close itself off from Russian rock music
Ukrainian border guards did not allow Russian actor and leader of the rock band “Zvuki Mu” Pyotr Mamonov into the country.
The press service of the State Border Service of Ukraine reported this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Mamonov was stopped at Boryspil airport and declared persona non grata for three years due to his visit to Crimea, which Ukraine considers “temporarily occupied.”
“At the Boryspil airport, during the registration of passengers for a flight from Turkey, border guards at the Kyiv Separate Checkpoint stopped two citizens of the Russian Federation. Foreigners violated the rules of entry and exit to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. One of them turned out to be a Russian rock musician, member of the group “Zvuki Mu”, actor and radio host - citizen M. He, together with a citizen of the Russian Federation, was heading to Ukraine, allegedly for personal purposes.
During control activities, border guards established that Russians had previously illegally visited temporarily occupied Crimea. Taking all the circumstances into account, State Border Service employees refused to allow the foreigners to cross the border and both were banned from entering Ukraine for three years,” the statement says.
