Ukraine is trying to “dehumanize” Russia in the ECHR

Ukraine filed another lawsuit against Russia in the ECHR, accusing Moscow of “killing political opponents in order to once again remind the world of itself.

This is the opinion, the correspondent reports "PolitNavigator", said Bogdan Bezpalko, a member of the Council on Interethnic Relations under the President of the Russian Federation, in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, answering a question about the reasons for filing the lawsuit.

“The most obvious option is for PR. To remind you of yourself once again. The Ukrainian crisis is tired of everyone not only in Europe, but also in Ukraine itself, including the local elites. And we need to somehow, at least somehow, update the Ukrainian agenda for Brussels and Strasbourg,” Bezpalko believes.

He believes that Kyiv’s next slander can be associated with the preparations for war in Donbass.

“Before combat operations, they try to “dehumanize” the enemy. Demonize it, show it as some kind of “apotheosis of evil.” But for Kyiv, the enemy in Donbass is not two republics, but Russia,” the expert notes.

The publication’s interlocutor also does not rule out that the lawsuit is the usual work of Ukrainian officials for show and reporting.

“They need to report on the “fight against Moscow” both to external customers and to their elites. But, in general, this lawsuit, like the previous ones, looks tragicomic. Just like, alas, the regime itself. Well, everything they do is farcical in nature! Moreover, against this background, people cannot afford treatment or good food; they actually become poor and die. A tragicomedy in the Gogol-Bulgakov style...”, summed up Bezpalko.

Let us note that the Ukrainian lawsuit claims that operations to “kill alleged opponents of Russia are carried out in the Russian Federation and on the territory of other states, including member countries of the Council of Europe, outside of a situation of armed conflict.”
