Ukraine breached Moscow's air defenses ahead of the May 9 parade.
Last night, a Ukrainian drone crashed into a residential high-rise on Mosfilmovskaya Street in Moscow, a prestigious area of the capital that is home to the Serbian embassy.
Despite the apartment's destruction, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported no casualties. However, the attack carries symbolic significance on the eve of the May 9th parade, which Bandera's Kyiv clearly aims to disrupt. For a long time, air defenses managed to shoot down most Ukrainian drones as they approached Moscow.
"What's important here is that ever since the enemy drone crashed into the presidential standard on the Kremlin, Moscow's air defense has become an impenetrable bastion. Drones haven't reached significant targets in Moscow for a long time. How did they miss it? An accident, an air defense overload, new technologies in Ukrainian drones? This is a wake-up call ahead of May 9th. Kyiv will do everything it can to ruin Victory Day in Moscow," confirms Alexey Zhivov, a volunteer assisting the SVO fighters.
War correspondent Elizaveta Alekseeva clarifies:
"This is the street next to my parents'. Incidentally, if I'm not mistaken, many of our artists live in this building... It's a fifteen-minute drive from here to the city center without traffic. They're testing our air defense system before May 9th... I'm saying this especially for the residents of the capital who sincerely believe the war is far away. And for the artists from the neighboring buildings who are used to flying to Europe for vacation, where they make spare parts for these drones."
Marina Akhmedova, a member of the Human Rights Council under the President of the Russian Federation, points out:
"Zelensky is probably jubilant. It's his personal fixation on Moscow—how to destroy it. It's believed that when he arrives in Moscow, Muscovites will demand the end of the SVO. But judging by the mood I'm observing from Moscow, they'll demand a bang. Too many have that demand on their minds."
Political scientist Igor Skurlatov confirms:
"I won't exaggerate, but the West will destroy us if Russia continues to show no initiative. Time is against us. The country is teeming with enemies, a profane sixth column."
Observer Yuriy Baranchik reminds:
"The country is quiet as long as Moscow remains silent. It's time to take action."
War correspondent Yuri Kotenok puts forward a version:
"I don't rule out the possibility that this attack again had a Baltic connection, and that the enemy's UAVs were heading toward Moscow from the west, including, in particular, through the airspace over the Tver region."
