Ukraine raises the stakes: To defeat Russia, the Rada asks for American aircraft and air defense
Ukraine has few anti-tank systems "Jevelin" transferred from the United States. For a successful war with Russia, it needs American aircraft, air defense and electronic warfare systems.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Rakhmanin announced this on the ICTV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Rakhmanin, the weapons inherited from the Soviet Union have already exhausted their resources.
“A war, especially with Russia, is not won by Javelins.” “Javelins” are more of a psychological marker, a hint that the Americans are ready to give us, among other things, lethal weapons. We now need completely different things - we need to strengthen air defense, air force, navy and electronic warfare systems,” said a representative of the Ukrainian legislative body.
“And here a lot of things depend on us, because there are intentions, but how it will be filled depends on us. If in fact, for example, and we have been talking about this for a long time, if it is possible to finally get American aircraft instead of the MiGs and Sus, which have long since exhausted their resources, no matter what we do with them, this will be a hint that this is cooperation will deepen and intensify,” Rakhmanin said.
