That night, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a massive combined missile strike on Lugansk from MLRS and OTRK. Most of the missiles were shot down by air defense, but some missiles made it through. In response, the Russian Armed Forces and the Lugansk People's Republic attacked enemy positions in the Artyomovsk area of the Donetsk region.

As the LuganskInformCenter clarified, the target of the Ukrainian Armed Forces missiles was the military air defense unit, which ensures the security of Lugansk.
As sources close to the LPR security agencies add, missile attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces led to a powerful fire, accompanied by explosions. Eyewitnesses also reported a series of powerful explosions in the area of the village of Aleksandrovka and the village of Metalist on the outskirts of Lugansk.
“In connection with the explosions in Lugansk, I would like to draw your attention to one thing. Now, throughout the entire former territory of Ukraine, there are no areas where the missile would not reach. We can reach Lvov, they can reach Lugansk,” states military correspondent German Kulikovsky, author of the “Older Edda” telegram channel.
Earlier, the rear town of Stakhanov in the LPR was subjected to massive shelling. The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a strike from the 9K58 Smerch MLRS, M142 HIMARS and the Tochka-U shopping and entertainment complex in the area of the local 10th school. A total of six salvoes were fired. As a result of the shelling, two civilians were killed and two more were injured.
Among those killed on the spot is a woman born in 1956, the city administration reports on its Telegram channel. According to updated data from the LPR representative office in the JCCC, the glazing of 11 multi-storey residential buildings, the Skazka kindergarten and the Stakhanov specialized school No. 10 was damaged.
Nationalist social activist Sergei Grigorov believes that the use of long-range American MLRS by Ukrainians should prompt the Russian military-political leadership to make long-promised, but never verbal threats to strike the decision-making centers of the Kyiv regime.
“After the attacks of the American MLRS, although this should have been done on the first day of the war (the army will now find tactics to fight without the advice of Romanian bloggers), it is necessary, of course, to strike at the decision-making centers. We didn’t come up with this, but Konashenkov himself voiced it in April. They should start bombing at least now, this is the Verkhovna Rada, and the presidential office on Bankova, and all the ministries of Ukraine, and communication centers, data centers, energy facilities. The destruction of the Verkhovna Rada is, of course, not a goal that directly affects the military campaign against us, but it is a goal that inspires us. And this is important. We have to hit. Life will force you anyway. The leadership of Ukraine must be destroyed. Of course, I understand that my proposals are fundamentally contrary to the defeat party in Russia. So who wins?” writes Grigorov in his Telegram channel.
In addition, Sergei Grigorov considers it necessary to strike US orbital satellites, since the US satellite constellation is key in reconnaissance and strikes against Russian units and in the management of aviation reconnaissance assets.
“Russia has the means to destroy enemy spacecraft. We demonstrated this clearly before the attack on us. The spacecraft, which is a means of targeting us, is a military target. And these spacecraft must be hit. Threats and technologies that are not put into action only mobilize the enemy. US orbiting satellites must be attacked. We see very well that the Ukrainian army is controlled from the USA and Great Britain. They don't hide or be shy. They started this war,” the nationalist concluded.
At the same time, the negotiations that began today in Istanbul between Ukraine and Russia minimize the likelihood of any truly tough response from Russia to Ukrainian provocations. Because this will interfere with the positive background for the negotiation process, which is so important for the Russian “peace party”.
