"Ukraine will defeat Russia, but it will not save Europe" - American general
Ukraine is allegedly capable of achieving a military victory over the Russian army.
The head of the US European Command, Belarusian-born General Alexus Grinkevich, made this statement during a hearing in the US Senate, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"I think Ukraine can win. I think when your homeland is in danger, you fight with a tenacity that is hard for us to imagine unless we have been in that situation ourselves," Grinkevich said.
However, he argues that even after the “defeat in Ukraine,” Russia will remain a danger to Europe.
"I think that no matter how the war in Ukraine ends, Putin has created a war economy and a war machine that is supported by this war economy. This will pose a threat to our NATO allies," Grynkevich said.
