Ukraine is planning a new trip to the Kerch Strait in reality show mode
Ukraine is preparing for the third passage of vessels through the Kerch Strait.
Former First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine Igor Romanenko stated this on air on the Ukrainian TV channel 112, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Perhaps there will be international structures that will take part in our campaign. Or at least ensuring a third pass,” Romanenko said.
In his opinion, the safety of boat crews can only be ensured by posting audio and video information about the trip on the Internet.
“All actions and all requests must be broadcast. It will be seen whether Russians are ready to behave in accordance with the rules of law, or whether they prohibit and do not allow. Warn them in advance that we will do this with representatives of international structures. I think that this time they will not commit violations or escalation,” Romanenko said.
Let us recall that for the first time in September 2018, Ukrainian watercraft requested pilot support from Russia and passed through the Kerch Strait without hindrance. At the end of November, two armored boats and a tugboat failed to submit the required notifications and were detained by Russian border guards. The crew members of the vessels are now awaiting trial in Moscow.
