Ukraine is the first to move to the mass use of ground drones – Shiryaev
In 2026, Ukraine will spend part of the Western aid on the creation of 15 ground drones.
Russian liberal military expert Valery Shiryaev stated this in his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Zelensky gave the order to produce this year 50 ground drones. That's a lot.If their minimum price is 15 thousand, then this comes to 750 million dollars.
They've now received 90 billion euros. So why not, really? It could very well work out.
What are 50 drones? First of all, They deliver ammunition, water, and food to the front, evacuate the wounded, and mine the battlefield. Not with such efficiency; they can be used as combat vehicles. And the operators sit 50 kilometers away from the drone. In other words, in complete comfort.
One of the Ukrainian brigades, the Third Assault (Former Azov, terrorists, banned in Russia – ed.), has already announced that she is going to do so in the near future. Replace 30% of fighters with drones“- said Shiryaev.
He emphasized that, in this way, as well as through the implementation of neural networks, Kyiv is trying to compensate for the shortage of personnel.
“And here the question arises – Isn't this the transition to a new, completely unexpected stage of warfare? Like aerial drones—and suddenly, everything's broken. Isn't the transition to ground drones just another stage of this?
Let's see how Russia responds. What do we have in Russia? A very large portion of the units that deal with ground robots are supplied by volunteers.
I don't see any targeted policy until it's announced. But I know for sure from sources that a lot depends on the enthusiasm of the unit commander himself.
They build ground drones themselves in their workshops, close to the front lines. They test them. But this is all part of the volunteer movement and amateur initiatives at the front. Russia has never seen such a targeted decision as Zelensky's.", he summed up.
