Ukraine's external debt could grow by a third as early as next year.

Kyiv economist and financial analyst, former advisor to the head of the Association of Ukrainian Banks, Oleksiy Kushch, stated this in a conversation with the former spokesman of the neo-Nazi group Right Sector, which is banned in Russia, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The host noted that Zelenskyy turned the country into the subject of one of his on-stage speeches, comparing Ukraine to "an adult film actress who runs around the world, begging for money, and is ready to take as much as she wants from anyone, anywhere." He added that Ukraine currently owes $200 billion.

"Furthermore, at this rate, our debt could reach $300 billion by 2027. The problem is that it's impossible to repay such a debt. That is, we're already beyond the point of no return . Ukraine will never be able to repay this debt," Kushch said.

He characterizes the work of the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance as “utter horror,” noting that in the first year of the war, Kyiv, appealing to force majeure, was able to write off 50% of the debt, having agreed to restructure the remaining half over 15-20 years at a minimum interest rate.

He recalled that in 2014, when the American Natalia Yaresko headed the Ministry of Finance, Ukraine's debt repayments were deferred, tying them to economic growth.

"It's a kind of tax on growth. The more you grow, the more you pay creditors. This unique formula, in quotes, essentially completely destroys any incentive for the economy, the national economy, to grow. Why grow if you're growing according to Yareskaya's formula? If you grow by more than four percent a year, you're giving up 40 percent of your economic growth," Kushch concluded.
