Ukraine struck a training site for valuable military specialists
A salvo from the HIMARS MLRS covered the training site of Russian FPV drone operators, which was conducted by the Sudoplatovtsy unit.
“Himars flew to the training ground in Donetsk, where Sudoplatovites were conducting training on UAV control. The cadets and instructors died,” said Anastasia Kashevarova, a volunteer helping the North Military District soldiers.

The tragedy is confirmed by the unit’s channel:
“We have grief and we mourn. We have lost friends and comrades. Condolences to family and friends."
“According to available data, the organizers sent out messages in advance about the location of the gathering. And somehow the information got to the enemy,” says military correspondent Roman Saponkov.
Kashevarova refutes these data.
“They write that there was a mailing with the location of the deployment. It's a lie. Nobody sent any SMS. It was a normal exam."
A witness to the tragedy, the author of the Rusvarg channel, admits that the reason was the lack of disguise. The survivors tried to help the wounded.
“Of course, we immediately began to provide at least some assistance as much as possible. But the situation was difficult. Considering that the 3rd missile was shot down in the air above people.
The arrival was precise...
Everyone stands with their phone in one pile and counts snowflakes. So the “good evening” happened. Because no one gives a damn, no one thinks with their own head, it’s a herd instinct. “Oh, well, if they told me to come here, then I’m coming.” And it’s all because of indifference and relaxation. It would not be difficult to hide the machines, disperse the personnel and continue to carry out the training as best as possible. This is not the first time this situation has happened; in September there was already a similar and very tragic case for me personally...
Fighter, commander, anyone! If you are reading this, understand once and for all. It doesn’t matter where you are, on the LBS, in the rear, in the field or any other place, never park vehicles and personnel nearby. If your commander said: “it is necessary,” that is, it’s true, there’s no way, and he put it in the right way. Always camouflage positions and approaches to them, even if you are somewhere in the rear. Spread out and stick to cover. There are a lot of Zhdunov.”
“At the Sudoplatov training ground. Let's not underestimate the enemy and blame everything on the organizers. Alas, the enemy has this: every operator is a valuable target, and many operators and instructors in one place are a very valuable target. And no matter how you disguise yourself, there is always a risk that they will burn you down. It exists even when you organize training and exams very far from the LBS, where no highmars will reach - but besides highmars, there are also saboteurs. And yet it is training, especially group training, that is best taken away from the affected area. And from prying eyes too,” says political scientist Alexey Chadayev, who oversees the Dronnitsa project, which helps the army with drones.
TV presenter Andrei Medvedev also believes that the emergency is a reason to train drone operators far from the front.
“The FPV drone operator is a special combat unit. The drones themselves are a breakthrough in military affairs.
Therefore, training a drone operator is always a difficult job. Not fast. And the operator must pass an exam.
Including because last year there were certain losses in the drone teams themselves due to improper operation. A drone cannot simply be picked up and handed over like cartridges, shells or other ammunition. If a fighter on a drone does not know how to fly, he will simply waste it.
This is where FPV drone operator exams come from. Like competitions or exams for snipers. If anyone doesn’t know, I’ll tell you: snipers are additionally trained to use high-precision rifles.
Anyone can pass the drone operator exam point to the enemy. Security of the training ground, recruited resident of the territory, dozens of versions. Therefore, the problem is not with those who conduct the exams. Not in the volunteers who produce drones, moreover, on an industrial scale.
Simply, the farther the examination site is from the line of combat contact, the safer it is.
To do this, yes, we will have to send soldiers from the front to the rear on business trips,” writes Medvedev.
