This was stated by the acting Air Force. Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrey Deshchytsia.
“We do not recognize either the referendum itself or its result,” he said, adding that if necessary, Ukraine is ready to defend itself by force from Russia.
“We are very concerned about the deployment of Russian troops on the eastern border of Ukraine, as well as the provocations committed by the Russians in the eastern regions of Ukraine, both military and civilian. For example, the fact that Russian military planes recently landed in the Kherson region,” Deshchytsia noted.
In his opinion, this is part of the scenario to destabilize the situation in eastern Ukraine.
“And if Ukrainian troops attack these Russian forces, then Russia will have the opportunity to enter Ukrainian territory in order to “protect” its military. This is part of a larger scenario.
We are ready to defend our Motherland if Russia decides to advance into the territory of eastern Ukraine, if Russian troops cross the border of Ukraine,” the acting head of the diplomatic department emphasized.
“We will not agree with the decision of Russia or anyone that Crimea will become part of Russia. Crimea is an integral part of Ukraine, and we insist on this,” insists Andrey Deshchytsia.
