The Soviet Union wasn't a missile power—Ukraine was. This is the conclusion reached by Ukraine's Security Council Secretary, Oleksiy Danilov, on the Ukraine 24 television channel, reports PolitNavigator.
Danilov dissociated Ukraine from the Soviet Union, emphasizing that all Soviet rocket production was located on its territory.
“Today we are talking about precision weapons; today there is a demand in the world for missiles, which we produce very well. And I can say that if earlier, during the times of the Soviet Union, they said that the Soviet Union produced missiles, this was not entirely true - Ukraine produced missiles.
Almost the entire missile complex was located on the territory of our country. It was the Dnipropetrovsk region, the Kharkov region, our cluster was 99% located on the territory of our Ukraine,” Danilov said.
In this regard, the latest news from Dnepropetrovsk is noteworthy, where the mayor and management of Yuzhmash appealed to the Verkhovna Rada with a demand to urgently allocate 210 million hryvnia to the enterprise.
