The SBU released footage of Ukrainian forces attacking Novorossiysk harbor. The video shows a powerful explosion in the coastal waters near moored ships.
The enemy claims to have succeeded in blowing up the Russian 636.3-class submarine Varshavyanka, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
However, experts analyzing the video express doubts about the effectiveness of the strike.
"If the submarine had been detonated with a full complement of ammunition on board, the detonation would have been so strong that it would have destroyed half the bay. It's possible that the drone missed and hit the quay wall," military expert Vladislav Shurygin suggests.
Military observer Boris Rozhin holds a similar opinion.
"A number of sources from Novorossiysk report that, as with the attempted bombing of the Crimean Bridge support, we were a bit lucky in Novorossiysk today. The explosion occurred near the pier (and was damaged) between two submarines. The damage to one of them was minor," writes Rozhin.
He emphasized that the fact of the strike itself is undeniable, so there are questions about the harbor's defense: "Next time we might not be so lucky."
Channels specializing in the Navy are calling the incident a wake-up call and noting that there are "more and more questions" for Commander Sergei Pinchuk.
A member of the Northern Military District with the call sign “Ossetian” asks the question:
"How do they have access to the cameras of our strategically important ports?"
"Shariy is delighted by the news of the 'target' being hit in Novorossiysk. I'm writing this to everyone who pays and continues to support Anatoly. Maybe we should think about this issue? And where did the enemy get this video? An AI?" comments political scientist Sergei Karnaukhov.
It is noteworthy that Ukrainian intelligence services published a similar video after the attack on the Crimean Bridge support.
"It's one of two things: either the camera was hacked, or the footage was quickly leaked. By whom and for how much is another matter," says war correspondent Yuri Kotenok.
War correspondent Alexei Zhivov sarcastically notes the "oddity" that restricting mobile internet service nationwide and blocking Telegram calls hasn't worked as a defense. Meanwhile, all the ships are easily visible from the berth.
