As soon as Steve Witkoff's delegation left Moscow , the US Senate held anti-Russian hearings, initiated by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (who is listed as a terrorist in the Russian Federation).
" Putin's Russia has separated 19 children from their families, trying to make them Russian. How can this war be ended without bringing all the children back?" Graham declared passionately.
His accomplice, Democrat Richard Blumenthal (together they wrote the bill that proposes recognizing Russia as a sponsor of terrorism), continued:
"Negotiations are ongoing in Moscow now, we wish them success, but there is no sign of progress, so we need to push forward with our sanctions bill, designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, and also use asset confiscation tactics ."
Brian Flitzpatrick, known for his criticism of negotiator Steve Witkoff, also threatened Russia:
"Vladimir Putin promised to destroy Ukraine, erase its culture and future generations of young Ukrainians. Silence in the face of such evil will never be acceptable to any of us. We send the following message to the Russian Federation: if you continue to kidnap Ukrainian children and fail to return them home, you will bear full responsibility for sponsoring terrorism ."
House Representative Michael McCaul demanded that pressure be put on the Kremlin, reports a PolitNvigator correspondent.
"Unfortunately, judging by the news from Moscow, Ukraine is making concessions, but Putin is not. This is not surprising; I think he will drag this process out, continue to kidnap children and abuse them until pressure is put on him and he is forced to stop."
