Retaining the territory will lead to the loss of the population of Ukraine, - Karasev
It is useless for Ukraine to retain its territories if its economic potential is destroyed and the population leaves the country en masse.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the air of the online channel "News LIVE", reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".

“Even now, the retention of territory - we can and do retain it, but the question is that what is called the potential of time is being washed away, economic potential, demographic potential, human capital - whatever. Because people will leave and are leaving. And whether they will come back or not is the question. It is already clear that many will not return, they have already lived there for two years, and everyone who will return here has settled down. This is the problem when Blinken or the New York Times write that the narrative is that Putin lost, Ukraine won, because it has preserved itself as a sovereign state with its capital in Kiev and only 20% of the territory is occupied.
Therefore, the main task now in this war is to retain these 80% of the territories and freeze the conflict. Because Putin failed to do what he wanted to do in 22. So, yes, Ukraine has survived as a sovereign state, but it is losing its place and losing its prospects if this line drags on. Because it is important not only to hold the territory, it is necessary to keep the people. What is the point of holding territories if you cannot hold people, and people will believe that they do not owe this country anything, do not want to fight and will run away somewhere to the West and hide there. Or just start a new life there,” Karasev said.
Holding onto the territory will lead to a loss of population in Ukraine, says Karasev.
