One of the main problems of the Russian army in the Northern Military District zone remains communications, which ensure the interaction of units located nearby.
Grigory Kubatyan, a traveler and war correspondent who served under contract in the SVO zone, spoke about this on air at Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Kubatyan spoke about an incident that almost led to tragedy during his service.
“Here, we have a specific situation - we are in the location of a unit. Suddenly we hear shooting. The city in which we were located is located on the line of contact, that is, the enemy could break through there. And we hear shooting. Moreover, the shooting is serious - there are explosions, and they use a machine gun, with all their might.
We decided that this was a breakthrough, everyone jumped up and ran to take up a perimeter defense. The bullets are already cutting off the foliage, it has landed on a post - that is, they are shooting somewhere nearby.
We almost started shooting in the opposite direction, trying to figure out what was happening, because no one warned us about the breakthrough.
But it turned out that some kind of reinforcement came to the “Wagners”, and they decided to teach and simply decided to shoot at some garages or some targets, but did not warn us.
But we, the “Akhmatovites,” are standing nearby, we don’t know who is shooting there, and we can start shooting in response. And then the war will simply begin.
In a good way, of course, there needs to be closer interaction between neighbors. There have been so many stories when someone mines a road or some positions, does not warn their neighbors, then they go and blow up their own mines. It shouldn't be like that.
To prevent these things from happening, there must be good coordination at the command level. I hope this is better now. I would like to believe that this is improving,” Kubatyan said.
