A Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman who died at the hands of his drunken colleague ultimately turned out to be a “hero” who died allegedly as a result of shelling by DPR soldiers.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov spoke about this today during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A few days ago, in one of the units of the 72nd mechanized brigade at positions in the area of the settlement of Zaitsevo (northern), a drunken quarrel between military personnel occurred on the basis of personal relationships. After a verbal altercation, the “warriors of light” took up arms. As a result of the skirmish, one of the militants received a bullet in the head from his “colleague,” said Daniil Bezsonov.
He also added that after the investigation, the platoon and company commander agreed to present the victim of a drunken quarrel to the brigade headquarters as having committed suicide due to unrequited love.
“In turn, the commander of the 72nd brigade, Tatus, was afraid to report to the commander of the occupation forces, Naev, about a suicide in a subordinate unit, fearing disciplinary punishment. Ultimately, the Ukrainian military man who died in a drunken showdown, in the eyes of the command of the occupation forces, became a victim of fake shelling from the positions of the DPR NM,” the representative of the defense department said in conclusion.
