Zelensky again says that they are not going to implement the Minsk agreements
For the sake of the DPR and LPR, it is not worth changing the Ukrainian Constitution, despite the fact that this is spelled out in the Minsk Agreements.
This was stated on air by future Verkhovna Rada deputy and member of the presidential Servant of the People faction, Iryna Vereshchuk, who is tipped for the position of head of the Foreign Affairs Committee, on TV channel 112, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the future parliamentarian, the only thing the republics can count on is certain rights within the framework of so-called decentralization.
“If we are talking about a bill on granting autonomy, then this is impossible, we are not talking about any autonomy. If we are talking about a special status, then we already have a law - we are talking about either its extension, or modification, amendments and additions. I read it, re-read it, looked at it from different angles. Yes, it will require certain new articles and additions, but overall it is acceptable.
As for changes to the Constitution, I am not sure that such changes are necessary. Yes, in Minsk-2, in these agreements it is written regarding the Constitution, but when we look at the processes that exist, decentralization, then what we can offer Donbass, when we talk about individual areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, it will not demand constitutional changes,” Vereshchuk said.
Zelensky's office is again saying that it has no intention of implementing the Minsk agreements.
