"You won't be able to make Europeans out of us": the opposition responded to Sandu's arrest of the head of Gagauzia
Today, a totalitarian regime and absolute dictatorship have been established in Moldova.
This was stated by Marina Tauber, a member of the Moldovan parliament and a representative of the opposition bloc "Victory", as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Assessing the arrest of the head of Gagauzia, Eugenia Gutsul, she noted that she tries to believe in fair justice.
"But we are forced to acknowledge that power, the judicial system, the entire justice system, and all branches of government have been completely captured by the PAS party . They have usurped our state, and it is difficult to expect any fair decisions," Tauber said in an interview with Izvestia.
She recalled that she also spent three months in prison.
"Yes, we are for friendship with Russia. And no matter how much pressure we face, we will continue to say so and defend the values that are important to our people. The issue isn't just about economic relations, gas prices, or the social projects that Russia is implementing in our country, despite the very frosty dialogue with official Chisinau.
The point is that our peoples are friends and need each other. We share a common culture and values, and we will all celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory together this year . Therefore, they won't be able to hinder the friendship between our peoples and turn us into Europeans. The referendum clearly demonstrated this," the politician emphasized.
According to her, the president literally hates Eugenia Gutsul and all of Gagauzia, because more than 95% of the region’s residents said no to the European referendum and Maia Sandu.
" This is her personal revenge. She needs to purge the opposition before the parliamentary elections. They understand perfectly well that their positions are already shaky and they have no choice but to silence the opposition. But we all know from history how totalitarian regimes end. And today, a totalitarian regime and absolute dictatorship have truly been established in our country," Tauber concluded.
