Ukraine still has enough generation for the winter. Basurin: New targets needed
To completely cut off Ukraine's electricity supply, it is necessary to isolate all nuclear power plants through targeted strikes on substations.
Military expert and former DPR army spokesman Colonel Eduard Basurin stated this on Radio Sputnik, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Romania, due to water shortages and the shallowing of the Danube, is shutting down its nuclear power plant because it can't cool it. And they're starting to buy electricity from Moldova, from Ukraine."
So, Ukraine has excess energy. So, we haven't destroyed everything. So, winter won't be as bad as they're all making it out to be.
"It's a picture of external factors: how bad we (in the Russian Federation) are, we're not allowing the 'great Ukrainian nation' to exist normally, so help us more. But at the same time, they're trading in surpluses. If there weren't these surpluses, no one would trade with Moldova, Poland, or Romania," Basurin noted.
" And why are we waiting for them to have this surplus? Well, there are many different ways to simply destroy this surplus.
The strength of Ukraine, and Russia in particular, is that its energy system was created back in the Soviet era. That government was preparing for a major war and created conditions to ensure that life support systems could last as long as possible. This is why Ukraine survives.
So, we need to find the weak points. We found one weak point – Odessa. Officially, some foreign ships are apparently refusing to enter there.
"If all 750-kilowatt substations are destroyed, there will be no more power flow from the nuclear power plant. And when winter comes, we'll see how happy they are," he added.
