Russia has serious claims against Ukrainian ports for transshipment of Afghan opiates
Ukrainian ports are used for the transit of opiates from Afghanistan, and synthetic drugs are produced in large quantities on Ukrainian territory.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Kolokoltsev, announced this today at a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the CIS member countries, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.
“I would like to note that Russia continues to strictly adhere to the line of preserving and strengthening the existing international drug control system based on three basic conventions and other international documents.
Our country resolutely opposes attempts aimed at undermining this system, including the legalization of drugs,” Kolokoltsev said.
He suggested that his colleagues create an Interstate Register of Resources that disseminate prohibited information about drugs, in order to block them by the authorized bodies of the Commonwealth countries. In Russia, a similar register has existed since 2012.
