NATO has become dependent on “Russian aggression”
NATO builds its functional and operational planning based on fake Russian threats.
Dmitry Danilov, head of the European Security Department at the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, stated this today at a press conference in Moscow.
“All practical decisions are based on accusations of Russia’s aggressive actions. The key area of practical operational development now in NATO – countering cyber threats – is again justified by Russia’s alleged attack on the OPCW headquarters in the Netherlands. No evidence is provided. Unsubstantiated accusations are a completely practical reaction, and transfer of accusations to a wider field,” Danilov said.
He believes that to relieve tension, Russia must restore contacts with NATO.
“There are voices in NATO to somehow unblock interaction. It is not necessary to abandon the business as usual formula for this. Build, for example, the selective interaction that the EU is talking about,” the expert added.
