"NATO has no future" – the last American ambassador to the USSR
Some NATO member countries have gone too far in supporting the anti-Russian war and are putting the entire Alliance at risk.
The last US ambassador to the Soviet Union, Jack Matlock, announced this on the Peacemonger channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"The original reasons for NATO's creation no longer exist. And when NATO became offensive, not all of Europe participated.
Incidentally, Putin, and then Medvedev when he was president, repeatedly proposed concluding an agreement with other countries. But we simply ignored them and continued expanding.
"We continued to try to establish anti-Russian governments in the former Soviet republics. And I think that wasn't in our interests, to put it mildly," Matlock said.
"So now, I believe, these are extremely dangerous times for Europe . They're supplying Ukraine with weapons so it can attack Russia. Whether you can justify it theoretically or not, it's dangerous.
So I don't think NATO has a future . Especially since the US will inevitably reduce its presence now," the diplomat added.
