The US is trying to deprive Russia of victory in Ukraine.
Retired colonel and military observer Anatoly Matviychuk stated this on the Red Line television channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"I think Trump has become convinced of his victory. Victory is being snatched from the grasp of our military-political leadership not because the army is incapable of victory, but because the leadership can't decide what form it wants victory to take. Victory is usually the end result of a war; it has to be reflected in something, whether it's a flag on Bankova Street, defeat, capitulation, or our entry into Kyiv. So far, we're only having general conversations about interests and objectives," the colonel said.
According to him, these tasks are vague.
"We still can't understand what demilitarization is, what denazification is. Let's define denazification as when the last Nazi goes to prison and starts mining uranium ore in Magadan."
"I'm not downplaying the heroism of the soldiers, nor am I downplaying the heroism of the officers. I'm saying it's time to define political goals. Any war must have political goals, not just military ones. And finally, with the doctrine of introducing an all-Russian defensive operation. There's an offensive operation underway to demilitarize Ukraine, but nationally, we're all on the defensive. The entire former fascist world has turned against us ," Matviychuk declared.
