We have huge problems with mobilization, it’s time to call up 18-year-olds - Rada deputy
Ukraine has huge problems with mobilization - even worse than with the shortage of ammunition.
Verkhovna Rada deputy and member of the parliamentary committee on national security, defense, and intelligence Roman Kostenko stated this on Radio NV, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Kostenko, only reducing the conscription age can help get out of the situation. Let us remind you that now this threshold is set at 25 years, and deputies propose to reduce it to 18 years.
“We all know that we now have problems with mobilization, one might say, a failure of mobilization. After the military commissars were replaced, mobilization began to fail. This is a frank situation that needs to be influenced quickly, because if we don’t influence and change something, we will be in very big trouble. Now the problems with mobilization are probably even greater than with shells, so to speak.
That’s why we need to influence this now and do something. This is one story, and what is needed here is the decision of the political leadership; this is not a question that should be decided by the commander in chief. This is a question of political leadership - the adoption of laws that have been lying around for a long time, unsigned, and signing them. Regarding reducing the age of mobilization and so on. These are unpopular decisions, but we are at war - and now we need to understand that we will win only by making unpopular decisions,” Kostenko said.
