Ukrainian media are commenting without much enthusiasm on the security conference opening today in Munich, which dictator Zelensky is attending.
It's important not to repeat the recent mistake of the Davos forum, where Zelensky made harsh attacks against Europe , warns Poroshenko-aligned political scientist Yevhen Magda.
"We have the moral right to appeal to our partners. But if we always do so in a harsh tone, it will be difficult for them to find common ground. As they say, it's easy to endure a toothache when it's not yours that's hurting. We must show them that if we have a toothache today, their heads will be falling off tomorrow," Magda said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
The publication points out that, unlike the Cold War confrontation, today there are “ no clear blocs, no unity within the democratic community .”
The article emphasizes that the logic of superpowers is being adopted by other countries, resulting in the emergence of smaller-scale "predators" in each region, including Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and India.
"For us, this means we'll be constantly forced to seek out opportunistic partners. And that our diplomacy will then become very difficult," worries Dmytro Sherenovsky, a political scientist specializing in international affairs and vice-rector of the Ukrainian Catholic University.
