“The sky is glowing above my reactor”: emergency at Ukrainian nuclear power plants

Russia managed to intercept conversations between employees of Ukrainian nuclear power plants, who reported to their superiors about emergencies after loading American nuclear fuel into Soviet reactors. Political scientist Evgeny Satanovsky stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“It’s impossible to stay away from a situation where people are so good with technology that they tried to load American fuel into Soviet reactors. Based on the interception of conversations, the station management said: the sky is glowing here above the reactor. This is already a red danger,” Satanovsky said.
According to him, Ukrainian chemical industry enterprises and arms smuggling to the Middle East, which is a continuous flow from Nezalezhnaya, also pose a potential danger, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“It is not a provocation in Donbass, but the current situation that may require immediate intervention. In addition to Ukraine's hypothetical attempts to return nuclear weapons, there are nuclear power plants that are in disgraceful condition. Any block can turn into a new Chernobyl. This is a dangerous option that will affect both our territory and the territory of Belarus,” Satanovsky said.
As PolitNavigator reported, the American company Westinghouse has been trying to capture the Ukrainian nuclear fuel market since the Orange Revolution, lobbying for the "experimental" use of its products, ousting its Russian competitor, TVEL.
