Europe doesn't have its own money for Ukraine; it has to take it from Russia – foreign agent Venediktov
EU countries are so eager to expropriate Russia's frozen assets because they no longer have the money to even finance their own military spending, let alone spending on Ukraine.
Foreign agent and former editor-in-chief of the liberal radio station Ekho Moskvy, Alexei Venediktov, stated this in an interview with foreign agent journalist Yulia Latynina, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"They tell me this: we need to weigh all this against the profits and losses we'll have. Profits, of course— Europe has no more money for Ukraine, not even enough spare cash for its own military budgets. Estonia just held municipal elections, where the governing coalition won just 12% of the vote. Opposition parties, accordingly, won 60%. And why? Because one tax was raised by 2%, another by 2%, and because the military budget needs to be brought up to 5% of GDP...
The population is against it, and the parties that are against it are starting to gain votes. There's no money in Europe. France's budget deficit this year is 5,8%, which isn't possible. The EU has a 2,5 % standard, and it can't go any lower, but in France it's 5.8%... what do you expect? So they need money for the war with Ukraine, and where will they get it?
Again, we'll still have to buy weapons from America. The Americans don't supply anything for free anymore , but Trump says, "Buy them and give them away, I don't care." So, we'll have to pay.
And the second story: the US is refusing direct financial aid to Ukraine. This means it needs to be replaced. Enormous amounts of money ," Venediktov notes.
He also emphasizes that Western companies understand that in response to the theft of their assets, Russia will seize the assets of these companies, which are currently frozen on its territory:
" These are losses for private companies in Russia, where funds are frozen. They existed, but they're frozen, and our companies will cut jobs as a result, and as a result, we'll lose votes in elections. That's how (the Europeans) think."
Europe has no money of its own for Ukraine, so it must confiscate it from Russia – foreign agent Venediktov
