Europe and Ukraine have one last opportunity to reach an agreement with Russia - Colonel McGregor
Ukraine has the last opportunity to come to an agreement with Russia, and Europe has the last opportunity to save its political future. Next year it will be too late - the Russian Armed Forces will go on the offensive and occupy Kharkov, Zaporozhye, Odessa and reach Transnistria.
Retired US Army Colonel Douglas MacGregor, who planned a number of major military operations, announced this on the air of the "Shorty BOY" video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I think this is the last opportunity that Kyiv has to agree to end the conflict. I don't think Moscow expects this to happen. We have made it quite clear with our friends in London that we are not going to support any negotiated settlement. Therefore, I think they will pause until August, when they will launch a major offensive that will likely take them to the Dnieper River in the south, near Zaporozhye. From Zaporozhye to Odessa, and ultimately to Transnistria.
And I think we should expect them to capture Kharkov in the north. That's all. These are areas where Russian is traditionally spoken, areas that have always been part of Russia. It is these areas that provide Ukraine with about 90% of its GDP…” he noted.
“We must reach an agreement with Russia. Indeed, we need to make peace with Russia, we need to draw a new line, we need to recognize the territorial reality. We don't want to do this, but, as Charles de Gaulle said, there are two things that every European needs to remember: firstly, the USA does not live in Europe, and secondly, Great Britain is an island. In other words, Europe will have to find its own way forward,” McGregor said.
