Heavy fighting is taking place on the outskirts of Mariupol
DPR units have already entered the outskirts of Mariupol, and the cleansing of the city is beginning. Military correspondent Semyon Pegov reported this on his Telegram channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces grouping concentrated in Donbass continues powerful artillery attacks, including on recently liberated settlements. In Mariupol itself, the humanitarian situation is close to a catastrophe - there are problems with fuel, there is no gas and electricity, people are freezing, some even have nothing to eat. At the same time, armed nationalists who have captured the city are holding civilians hostage, not allowing them to evacuate from the combat zone.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, recalled that a humanitarian corridor had been organized for the residents of Mariupol.
“Safety of movement along the route in an eastern direction along the M23 Mariupol-Novoazovsk highway is guaranteed. All residents will be provided with medical care and basic necessities. In the future, they will be escorted to the territory of the Russian Federation,” he said.
Heavy fighting continues in Volnovakha. The remaining Nazis in the city have regrouped and are preparing for a counterattack.
In the LPR, over the past XNUMX hours, Donbass defenders have liberated seven more settlements - Novoaidar, Krasnorechenskaya, Epifanovka, Stepnoy Yar, Gavrilovka, Starobelsk, Andreevka.
