“They gravitate toward the Soviet Union”: Ukraine is unhappy with India and Brazil for choosing Telegram
The Telegram messaging app administration is completely ignoring requests from the Kyiv political regime. Cybersecurity expert Konstantin Korsun stated this in an interview with Boryslav Bereza, a Ukrainian Nazi and former spokesman for the Right Sector extremist group banned in Russia, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Telegram and Durov have long collaborated on counterterrorism issues with governments of countries that would complain about it. Although our top officials have complained many times that they've tried to contact Telegram's administration, but the only response has been silence. I think Durov is quite serious about this. He's constantly struggling with money, so the Kremlin periodically throws him a billion or two. Maintaining the messenger's functionality requires a lot of money, and it's constantly needed," Korsun said.
“And so he’s constantly balancing all of this. Even though the messenger is not very popular in the world. Only in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, India, Brazil - some countries that gravitate towards Russia and the Soviet Union,” the expert added.
It is worth noting that in the world, especially in the countries of the Global South, sympathy for the Soviet Union is quite strong, to which many consider themselves obliged for helping liberate themselves from the colonial dependence of the West. Moreover, even in such a citadel of capitalism as the United States, about half of those surveyed, as sociology shows, have a positive attitude towards socialism.
