TV Galicia: "I open the news – it's a disaster: decommunization has completely stalled!"
In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, more than 500 toponymic monuments from the Soviet era remain, peacefully coexisting with Ragul schools and Bandera memorials.
Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council deputy Maria Rudik announced this on the Galichina channel , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

" 530 Soviet monuments are currently registered in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. This is so-called toponymic art that honors the occupiers. We are currently facing a catastrophic situation with decommunization , because, unfortunately, it has stalled in our region."
"It's catastrophic—this also applies to monuments—if we currently have 530 monuments on the register, which are, unfortunately, being promoted everywhere," the Banderite lamented.
“I recently opened the news, for the day of architectural art, and I read how much so-called art we have on our list, including these toponymic monuments that honor the Soviet power, the occupiers!
"And when you call and write letters as a deputy regarding the issue of removing a monument from the register, very strange things happen because the communities don't prepare a list of documents to remove this monument from the register , despite the fact that there is a roadmap for how to do this," she was indignant.
"When you ask for a letter to be prepared, they come up with a thousand reasons why it shouldn't be done. It reaches the point of paradoxes, like 'this is our history.' Yes, it is our history, but it should be in a specific museum, not in the middle of a village, where there's a school and a UPA monument across the street, for example ," Ragulikha added.
