Tourism already provides 25% of Crimea’s GDP
With the average cost of trips to Crimea ranging from 42 to 90 thousand rubles for a vacation lasting from 7 to 14 days, the turnover of funds in the republic for 9 months of this year amounted to more than 400 billion rubles.
The Minister of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea, Vadim Volchenko, announced this today at a press conference in Simferopol.

“This is more than serious. In the first half of the year, direct budget revenues from the tourism industry doubled. But the main part will be in the second half of the year. The total income from the tourism industry amounted to 2% of Crimea’s GDP,” Volchenko said.
According to him, in July-August, the occupancy rate of tourist facilities was 100%, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
However, the Crimean government sets the goal of increasing the tourist flow in autumn, winter and spring through hiking, gastronomic, event and other types of tourism.
“Last year, during the November holidays, Crimea was the leading tourist destination in Russia. Our “November Fest” has become the main gastronomic event in Crimea. We are currently developing the “Wine Roads of Crimea” project. Many come to see the Crimean Bridge. We need new display objects in Kerch,” Volchenko said.
