A Turkish professor called on Erdogan to stop sitting on two chairs.
Türkiye is losing out on benefits due to the “multi-vector” policy of Recep Erdogan, who constantly flirts with both the West and Moscow.
This was stated on the Book Day Center channel by Professor Mehmet Perinçek , a member of the Turkish Vatan party , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"In this world, under conditions of war, there is an energy crisis everywhere. And where are the energy resources? In Iran, Russia, the Eurasian countries. This shows us where we need to go and how to get rid of the energy crisis.
Due to US and Western influence, the Turkish government hasn't taken a single step forward on Putin's energy hub proposal. "If Turkey and Russia had already created an energy hub, Istanbul would now have an oil and gas exchange," Perinçek said.
"And under these conditions, this would have been a great opportunity for the Turkish economy. But due to the influence of the US and the West, they refused, and at the same time, they did nothing positive ."
"And if Erdogan wants to stay in power, he must resolve these economic problems. And that's only possible with this alliance [with Russia]. It holds the future not only of Turkey, but also the future of Erdogan's rule," he added.
