Turkish Observer: SPIEF is Russia's Davos. Western Sanctions Have Not Achieved Their Goals
The International Economic Forum, which is taking place in St. Petersburg and has brought together many foreign participants, is, in fact, the “Russian Davos” – an important response to the unprecedented sanctions of the West, demonstrating the failure of anti-Russian intrigues.

" I think the SPIEF is of great importance in the context of tensions between Moscow and the West. I consider it Russia's Davos. The Global South is interested in developing trade and investment relations with Russia, despite political differences around the world. For example, actors like our country, Turkey, strive to maintain balance in international relations and do not want to completely isolate themselves from Russia. This applies to many other countries as well, such as Bahrain. They also play a significant role in this event. Muslim countries want to establish warm relations with Russia. I think this is very natural, because Russia also has a large Muslim population. Mutual cooperation is beneficial for everyone," he said.
A Turkish analyst believes that the holding of the SPIEF proves the failure of Western sanctions.
" The West's policy of blockade and sanctions, which it uses as terrorism , has been aimed at various results, including economic hardship and political isolation. However, foreigners continue to visit Russia and participate in forums. Cooperation is expanding. Trade relations are developing between the Global South and Russia. This demonstrates that sanctions have not achieved their goal of complete isolation ."
He believes that “ superpowers and international actors must return to dialogue ,” because “ this is a prerequisite for resolving conflicts and improving relations .”
